His True Queen was one of those books that I was eagerly awaiting and it did not disappoint! When I finished The Controversial Princess, all I wanted was to see how this story was going to end. Jody Ellen Malpas did an amazing job with this duet and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time as this gripping story unfolded.

I was drawn in by the complexity of the story, the twists and turns, the deception and the strong attraction between Adeline and Josh. The struggle that Adeline had with her newly acquired role, the her duty to her family and country, and trying to balance those things with her blossoming romance with movie star, Josh was nothing short of captivating.

I went through every emotion as I read this book; from anger, to hope, to joy, to sorrow with some angst thrown in as well. Josh and Adeline face every obstacle possible and they continued to fight for one another as they both knew that they were one another's destiny; their one true love. I was blown away by the twists and turns this book took and all that was revealed by the end. Many things I did not see coming which made the enjoyment of this book so much more profound. Smoke and Mirrors was a perfect name for this duet and I would highly recommend picking it up. You will not be sorry!!

I didn’t love Josh Jameson in the first book of this duology, but man, oh man, I fell hard for him in the second book. Jodi Ellen Malpas has a way of making you love scoundrels and rogues that you know you shouldn’t love, but you just can’t help yourself. Her male leads are always book boyfriends, and Josh Jameson is no different.

This is a book to recommend to anyone who wishes for fame or notoriety. Adeline and Josh’s predicament is not an easy one. Malpas has a gift for creating over-the-top hurtles for her characters. But it just makes it all the more sweet when they work it all out.
Another gem from JEM! This two book series is EPIC! His True Queen picks up right where The Controversial Princess left off. Adeline and Josh’s budding relationship was royally screwed. Adeline doesn’t want to become the Queen of England, just the Queen of Josh’s heart. She can’t rule the country and be with her beautiful American boy since he isn’t from royal lineage.

“My father and my brother are dead because of me. The country has lost their Sovereign because of me. My destiny has been written, a destiny I cannot bear, yet it is my own doing. It is my punishment.”

Adeline knows she must concentrate on her Sovereign duties and not go against tradition. Will she be forced into a loveless marriage? Is she just a pawn in a royally screwed game of love, lies, and loyalty? Will this princess be allowed to be with the King of her heart and bedroom?

His True Queen was nothing short of amazing. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. This royal, two book series is the Crown jewel of JEM’s books!
What an incredible story! His True Queen is the conclusion to Princess Adeline and Josh Jameson’s love story and I have to say the HEA was different than what I expected and still just as wonderful as I could have hoped for.

In this book we get just as much heat as before, because when Josh and Adeline are in the same vicinity...they get damn near combustible. But with all that sex and heat the author gives the reader so much more to Adeline’s struggle with the role she never wanted. The pressures she was constantly under and even gave the underlying issue in society that a man is better than a woman (or so the egotistical, patriarchal idiots would think). Honestly, the were patronizing at every turn and I would have done far more than Adeline did.

But with Josh in her life, she had newfound strength that only got stronger the more time she spent with him. He had the ability to make her feel free, powerful and cherished with just a look. Their connection was incredible from their first meeting and the pace of their story gave way to only intensifying that connection so it was felt through the pages. I felt every bit of frustration, heartache and sensual desire in every fiber of my being.

The Smoke & Mirrors Duology is a magnificent modern day fairytale love story. Adeline is the Princess women dream of being and Josh is the man most women hope for and their story was one of struggling through tradition, expectations and idealism in order to have the happily-ever-after they are both willing to fight for.
The conclusion to this duology was eagerly anticipated and Malpas most definitely did not disappoint. 

Adeline, The Queen of England, and Josh Jameson, Hollywood royalty, in the affair of the century…only no one knew and never could.  Adeline became Queen in an moment that should never have happened.  Duty called, protocol commenced, hearts were slain.  The one thing that she loved, needed, and began to breathe for was omitted from her life.  She began her duty as ruler supreme.  But her true King, the man that she worshipped wasn’t about to give up on his Queen.  Never a thumbs down, never.

But secrets, smoke and mirrors and jealousy reign supreme.  The Monarchy shall be protected at all costs,

This couple simply won my heart.  Adeline for her strength and weakness.  And Josh for realizing it was worth it all for His Queen.  Their private moments, their chemistry and heat and willingness to give in to their desires made for not only a love story but a partnership. 

The twists and turns and the occasional running completely off the road left us with questions but the answers most certainly came out of left field.

Love and duty, whether to country or the heart is not an easy choice or course.  Quite often, it's a curse.

And I would most definitely like to see Josh wearing "The Crown"!
