PERFECT DAY has really, really bad guys, good guys that are flawed, sparse and suitable romantic moments, and it's all wrapped up in a thoroughly engaging plot. Imagine Muslim extremists partnering with skinheads in central Florida, conspiring to bring about hell on America. With characters you believe and perfect pacing this read is a weekend’s worth of satisfying entertainment! One reviewer says you need to be an "extreme right wing conspiracy theorist" to enjoy it, basically that Lawrence portrays Muslims in general as jihadist, but I did not get that. It's fiction. Bad guys like this are believable, and I don't think he's disguising political message in his storytelling. If you enjoy discovering new fiction talent, don't let a few editing flaws hold you back from taking a chance on Gunnar Lawrence.

I though "Fair Play" was a brilliant book, but I have to say the author, Mr. Lawrence really went the distance with this one. Absolutely the best thriller. I could not put it down. I lost sleep at night, took my kindle on breaks. It was nerve wracking. I was all in after the first chapter. Before one incident would end another would begin. It was an excellent book that pulled at my emotions. There were to me at least 4 good guys. Gary turned my heart to mush. He was tortured over and over again. He alone deserves his entire story told. However Detective Friedman was a hero too along with news reporterJerome. The book is GREAT and I can't wait for the next one. Hey move over all you thriller authors out there, Mr. Lawrence is the real thing. His books are worth way more than the cost on .
The Perfect Day by Gunnar Angel Lawrence was a constant emotional turmoil. I sat at the edge of my seat wondering and waiting what was going to happen next. It was gruesome at times with what some of the characters were doing with their torture techniques and there were times I didn’t think I could go on but I knew I had to. The story even took over my dreams as I thought about what I had just read. It was that powerful.

The author was very detailed and careful to select the proper description in the scenes so, as readers, we could not just imagine what was going on but also feel it. This is good and bad, whereas, good because it took the reader into the story, making it more of a personal connection. Bad because while I was there in some of the scenes, I felt myself clenching my chest waiting for the anticipated action and often destruction that had me at the verge of tears that were filled with heartbreak and anger at the same time.

I don’t want to give anything away but The Perfect Day is a story about terrorists bringing their hate into the United States. They planned to hit multiple cities at the same time and called their plan The Perfect Day because, for them, it would be. I was surprised to read that they had made allies with the most unexpected group I would have ever thought of, but it was only done with the idea that one group thought they would use the other for their own purpose and then eliminate their enemy when they were no longer of any use to them. Of course!

In the story, you get so many points of views that if you skip anything you can easily miss a vital piece of information needed to understand what is going on. In the beginning, all the characters don’t know each other but, like a puzzle, the pieces come together and the right people are placed where they need to be to work together to help stop the perfect day from happening.

If you’re looking for a happy go lucky, smile on your face story, this isn’t the story for you. If you’re looking for a great read that will open to your eyes to the possible threats that could happen to our country I would highly recommend this book. It has opened my eyes and taught me not to take any little detail for granted because it is the little things that may make the more sense later on. It has also taught me that everything is not as it seems.

This book is well-written and once it gets your attention it is not lost from beginning to end. Every character has a story to tell and you will feel something for each of them. The plot was creative and still original with so many climaxes leading you to the main excitement in the end. Gunnar Angel Lawrence should be proud.

My was overheated by the time I finished this great read about Detective Paul Friedman by Gunnar A. Lawrence. Hats off to this master of suspense.
The Perfect Day is a tremendously well written, gripping novel about terrorism. The author has woven a great web of plots and counterplots. I found this riveting and stayed up late to finish it. I'll look for his other works now too. Lawrence is a talented, accomplished, writer and story teller. I wish I could give him 10 stars for this story. It's that good. I noticed a low star review mentioning typos. There are very few for a work this long and complicated, and they did not detract from the story in any way.
